ExynAI Autonomy to Help Accelerate Discovery of Critical Minerals Vital to U.S. Energy Independence and National Security

Aligns with Exyn’s Three Pilot Programs to Automate the Digitization of Physical Industries

PHILADELPHIA, PA, Oct. 19, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Exyn Technologies (“Exyn” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: EXYN, EXYNW), a leader in physical AI for autonomous mapping and perception-driven navigation in complex, GPS-denied environments, announced that it is part of a national laboratory-led team supporting the Mining Autonomous Platform for Prospecting and Ore Discovery (“MAP-POD”) project, which has been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (“DOE”) for award negotiations under its Mine of the Future Initiative. Exyn is expected to contribute ExynAI-powered near-zero drift navigation for ground vehicle autonomy to support the project’s development of advanced underground mining and mineral discovery capabilities.

DOE’s Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation selected 17 national laboratory projects for a total of $29.5 million in funding under the initiative, which is focused on accelerating innovative technologies that expand and improve America’s domestic mining capabilities. According to DOE, the selected projects will reduce dependence on foreign supply chains, bolster national security and advance the technologies that will establish America’s long-term energy independence. The MAP-POD project will combine autonomous robotics, advanced sensing and artificial intelligence to accelerate underground mapping and identify minerals in real time.

Exyn brings extensive experience in autonomous mapping of underground mines, where GPS is unavailable and conventional surveying can be slow, difficult and potentially hazardous. ExynAI® has achieved Level 4B autonomy, enabling aerial and ground robots to navigate, map and collect data in complex, GPS-denied environments without prior maps or continuous human control. At Tüprag, Eldorado Gold’s mining operation in Turkey, for example, Exyn Nexys reduced survey capture times from approximately 40 minutes to approximately 5 minutes per scan.

The same autonomy engine that Exyn developed and proved in mining applies to a much broader range of industries. In defense, for example, autonomous systems that can navigate and map GPS-denied or communications-constrained environments can support reconnaissance, situational awareness and infrastructure assessment while reducing the need to place personnel in hazardous environments. Exyn believes this ability to apply one autonomy platform across many robotic systems and end markets creates a significant opportunity to expand ExynAI beyond mining and automate the digitization of the physical world.

“Securing America’s supply of critical minerals is a national priority, and our participation in this national laboratory-led project selected under the DOE’s Mine of the Future Initiative represents an important opportunity to demonstrate ExynAI’s capabilities,” said Ben Williams, Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Exyn Technologies. “ExynAI was built for the conditions this project will face underground, where there is no GPS and the environment can be hazardous for people. This project is closely aligned with the three pilot programs we are running to automate the digitization of complex physical environments across industries. We see each of them as a pathway to expand ExynAI into new commercial and government markets.”
